AS520 Personal Air Quality Monitor

Environmental respiratory issues are a big news story and the new AS520 Personal Air Quality Monitor from Atmospheric Sensors Ltd is designed to monitor and record the impact of air-borne contaminants on the wearer’s health.

Creactive Design ID worked closely with the Atmospheric Sensors’ team to design a revolutionary product that is non obtrusive and light and compact as possible, so the user almost forgets that they are wearing it.

Due to the initial trial low pre-production quantities, the construction of the monitor is based on a lower cost vacuum forming process. This created a robust and smooth enclosure that is comfortable to wear.

A dedicated base station is provided to store the sensor unit overnight for re-charging and transmission of data to a central monitoring location.

Sepura TETRA Hand-portable

The revolutionary new SC2020 hand-portable from Sepura heralds a fresh new design direction for Tetra handset technology. The SC2020 is the most advanced product Sepura has ever brought to market.

Creactive Design ID contributed to the generation of the industrial design for the hand-portable, working closely with Sepura to deliver a radio with radical performance advantages over competitors’ products, with a more contemporary design aesthetic.

The SC2020 is aimed at the emergency services; military, security and commercial sectors worldwide The casework design reflects the demanding environments and situations it is used in; shielded buttons and controls, waterproof construction and a rugged appearance.

The new styling seamlessly blends with the existing TETRA product architecture; including remote handsets, battery packs and chargers. The hand-portable design includes an inter-changeable colour element, providing customisability for the end user.

The SC2020 is designed to meet the toughest communication challenges, and boasts an IP68 environmental protection rating which means it is completely dustproof and submersible in water. Its range of features make it ideal for users from emergency services and commercial sectors, often operating in some of the most demanding environments.

‘’It was a pleasure working with Creactive Design ID who were very responsive in supporting Sepura during the conceptual development phase of this exciting new product, said Keith Kenny, (Mechanical Engineering Team Leader).

“Hans and his team understood the brief perfectly and the results speak for themselves.”

Creactive Design ID comments;

“it was great to work with Sepura and a thrill for the studio to be involved in such an important and high profile product for a major local company. They knew exactly what they wanted when they saw our first concepts, and we were able to quickly produce the 3D CAD data for the designs to be engineered by the Sepura team.”

Virtuoso Label Printer

Virtuoso is an innovative new laboratory instrument from Thermo Scientific with industrial design from Creactive Design ID.

The Virtuoso offers advanced labelling capabilities, ensuring accurate vial identification, using the system’s touch screen and network capabilities to transfer text, graphics, barcodes, and logos directly onto vials.

Creactive Design ID has an enduring and successful relationship with Thermo Fisher Scientific and has provided award winning industrial design over nearly two decades for their wide range of laboratory instrumentation.

Hans Petersen, Managing Director of Creactive Design ID says:

‘Delivering a complete product to such challenging timescales is testament to the excellent rapport we have with the client development team.  We have designed a product that has achieved every goal expected of it; ease of use, low manufacturing costs, simple assembly and servicing with attention grabbing styling.’

Success Story Sells off the Page

The VDV II Network Tester by IDEAL INDUSTRIES NETWORKS has been selling world wide even better than first projected.

The visual impact of the product is vital in this market sector, as the products are generally purchased ‘off the page’.

Creactive Design ID met the demanding objectives in the development of the network tester;
the industrial design had to have a contemporary style with links to IDEAL INDUSTRIES NETWORKS existing products, but needed to emphasise simplicity of use, as well as being ergonomic and robust enough to use in a range of environmental conditions.

The casework uses multi-shot injection mouldings to provide a strong visual appearance and rugged feel.
Case parts were carefully designed for efficient assembly using minimal parts, clip details, combined compression moulded keymats and environmental seals.

The design methodology enabled a product range to be created with few additional casework parts. Simple, low cost elements such as connector panels, key-mats and bezels can be fitted to the major casework parts to provide a range of products with minimal tooling costs.

StarLeaf Conference Phone 2220

The technologically advanced conference speaker designed by Creactive Design ID with the team from StarLeaf, offers exceptional high definition audio quality in a product designed to compliment any meeting room or conferencing facility.  The conference phone has four touch sensitive transparent panels that change colour when touched to indicate mute or active operation.  Uniquely, the design has four microphones in each corner and a high quality speaker at it’s core, that provides sound quality equivalent to face-to-face discussions.
Creactive Design ID worked alongside the StarLeaf engineers to tackle numerous technical challenges to create an advanced product that is intuitively simple to use and simple and efficient to manufacture.
The StarLeaf Conference Phone 2220 is used in conjunction with a StarLeaf Telepresence system and can be used with StarLeaf Telepresence Microphones for larger boardrooms.

Paul Osborn of StarLeaf says;
“Creactive Design ID met the challenge of combining the technical requirements we imposed with their vision for the product, producing a design which exceeded expectations.”

StarLeaf Touch 2035 Telepresence Controller

The StarLeaf Touch 2035 is a new control unit for managing telepresence conferences using an intuitive touch screen interface. This new addition joins a comprehensive line up of mobile, personal and room systems designed by Creactive Design ID with StarLeaf.
StarLeaf manufacture video calling and conferencing hardware and software solutions that are all managed from the StarLeaf cloud. The Touch 2035 provides a totally intuitive user interface with a large touch screen and a graphic interface also designed by Creactive Design ID. It can be paired with any other StarLeaf desktop or room based system, it requires no training to use and provides the end user with a wealth of video calling and conferencing functionality.

The StarLeaf Touch 2035 joins an expanding and successful range of StarLeaf solutions, where all hardware endpoints have been designed by Creactive Design ID. The design process demands a tight working relationship between the two companies, developing the design from the initial concept through to prototyping and manufacture.

Creactive Design Recognised at Awards Ceremony

Creactive Design has been recognised in the prestigious Plastics Industry Awards for the best consumer product of the year category, for the Magrini ‘Breeze’ high chair.
